About the Naqshbandi Eastern World Tour

ISCA Founder Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil Al-Haqqani, and ISCA Chairman Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani, will lead a delegation on a grand tour of several countries, beginning April 2001. The tour will revive traditional Islamic practices such as the visitation of important Muslim sites, ceremonial gatherings in remembrance of the names of God, and prayer services for the masses. A non-profit religious organization based in Washington, DC, the Islamic Supreme Council of America aims to promote Islam as a religion of peace, moderation, tolerance and justice throughout the world.

ISCA is dedicated to educating Muslims and non-Muslims alike on the traditional aspects of Islam, with an emphasis on spirituality [Sufism]. Though the community continues to grow tremendously throughout the world, the essence of tolerance, love, peace and justice inherent in Islam has been neglected. ISCA aims to revive spiritual practices of the faith in order to reduce societal tensions and promote the fundamental principle of moderation in Islamic belief, as it was practiced throughout these regions in the past.

After the publication of an article in Newsweek Magazine on

saints and miracles in Islam and other faiths (Newsweek, May 1, 2000), ISCA has had numerous inquiries about spirituality and hierarchy in Islam, both of which have existed since the time of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). After a successful trip to South Africa earlier this year, ISCA decided to launch a worldwide tour to countries where major saints lived and holy sites are located.

The Naqshbandi Eastern World Tour will begin in the ancient land of the Sufis, Uzbekistan. Early in the history of Islam, one of the world's three great religions, Uzbekistan was the heart of learning and spirituality for the entire Muslim world. Home to Imam Bukhari, Shah Naqshband, and several saints of the Naqshbandi Sufi Order, Uzbekistan is a land of inspiration, divine love, and rich  tales.

ISCA is honored that the modern-day leader of the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Sufi Order, His Eminence Mawlana Shaykh Nazim Adil Al-Haqqani will lead this educational tour. Having persisted under 70 years of communist rule, Islam in Uzbekistan is now the subject of a vigorous renaissance. Memories of the ancient Persian Empire, the Timurids and the Amirs as well as the deep roots of religion and spirituality are even now on the tip of tongues throughout the Republic.

Experience the glory of Uzbekistan. Join us in the Naqshbandi Heartland Tour online and taste the love, devotion and spirituality that inspired a thousand years of Islam in the world.
