On Monday, May 21st, Shaykh Nazim met with the Prime Minster of Sri Lanka, Mr. Ratnasiri Wickremanayake.  Also in attendance was the Minister of Highways, M. Fowzie.  In the brief meeting, the two discussed religious affairs in Sri Lanka, namely tensions between Buddhists and Muslims on the island, as well as improvements in the transportation infrastructure, such as a marked decrease in animal driven carts on the main roads.

The Prime Minster's office is kept under full security due to attacks by the Tamil Tigers guerilla fighters.
