Typical Day in Ceylon
May 20 Interfaith Brunch Our Sri Lankan brothers and sisters have seen to it that Mawlana's every day is punctuated by breakfast, brunch, lunch, high tea and dinner. Alhamdulillah, this way they have enabled thousands of people in Sri Lanka to meet the World Leader of the Naqshbandi-Haqqani tariqat. On May 20, brunch was an interfaith event
attended by over 500 participants representing the many faiths of Sri Lanka. The
seven-course meal was prepared by a famous French chef [left], and served in a beautiful
open air home that was won many arcitechtural awards. The home is modeled after Moghul
Muslim homes of the subcontinent. Listen to the Interview - .MP3 File (23 MB) Recommended for Broadband users only |

Sri Lanka Malay Association That afternoon, Shaykh Nazim visited the Colombo Malay Association's Cricket Club. He was welcomed by hundreds of men and women. As always with Mawlana Shaykh, the most important aspect of the event was prayer, in which all present joined in Asr and Maghrib prayers (outdoors), and the accompanying tasbeeh, recitation and invocations. Then all waited in line to greet the Shaykh and one another with salaams. The Shaykh patiently greeted every person in attendance. |
